Official version
The Decree always takes precedence over the information presented on this website.
INTRODUCTION
The decree is an important tool to help maintain a climate of social peace between employer and employee. It sets out the minimum conditions to be met in the automotive services industry.
Its content is negotiated between employer and union representatives, reviewed by the Ministry of Labor before its publication in the Gazette officielle du Québec and then comes into force. It stems from the law on collective agreement decrees which stipulates in article 11 that the provisions of the decree are of public order.
In the event of a conflict between the application of a decree and the Act respecting labor standards, the most generous provisions apply.
