What you need to know on the 24 June, the day of the Saint-Jean-Baptiste
On 24 June is a paid statutory holiday for all employees of Quebec. The only condition to qualify for this leave is to be in employment at the date of the holiday. This year, the June 24 falls on a Saturday. If Saturday is usually a non-working day within your business, it is fitting to pay the holiday of 24 June following the calculation of the allowance explained below, or to grant a compensatory leave of a day to be taken on the working day preceding or following the 24 June. Leave of the 1 July, what you need to know!
The employer must grant the 1 July as a holiday. To qualify for a paid statutory holiday the employee must, unless he is authorized to be absent, or that he justifies his absence by a valid reason: · having worked the last working day preceding the holiday and; · having worked on the first working day following the day holiday in addition, it must not receive compensation from the Commission of standards, the equity, of the health and safety of the work. The Qualification and Training Development Department offers eligible workers and employers further training to meet the needs of the industry. The service can also provide preparatory training for the professional qualification exam. Those interested can choose between online or classroom training.
The Qualification Department ensures the proper conduct of professional qualification exams and sees to the management of various skilled and classified trades in order to meet the needs of each employee and employer with personalized follow-up.
Monthly reports are used by CPA Montréal to verify compliance with the Decree. A system detects the corrections that must be made in case of administrative errors. Workers’ hours of experience or training are accumulated by the Financial and Monthly Reports Department.
Various systems have been implemented to facilitate the transmission of these reports.
